Worked with optomechanical engineers to redesign a telescope primary-mirror mount from blade flexures to bipods, including liquid pinning to absorb assembly tolerance while minimizing mirror stress. Designed the mirror handling plate, produced manufacturing drawings, and developed the handling and bonding concept of operations.
Built a reconfigurable stepper-motor and driver testbench for a focuser mechanism. Brought up and debugged the TMC5262 driver, added browser-based control and telemetry, and used interchangeable load and metrology fixtures to characterize torque, sensorless stall detection, and position accuracy.
